Mr. Steve Ryan

Steve Ryan is the Technical Director, Mission Technologies, Defensive Information Operations,
National Security Agency. He has worked in the field of Information Assurance at the National Security Agency since 1984. He began his career developing cryptographic products used to secure voice, data and network communications. With a Bachelors of Science degree in
Electrical Engineering from the University of Rhode Island, he is a recent graduate of the NSA's three-year Senior Technical Development Program.

Mr. Ryan has designed custom chips and printed circuits utilizing state-of-the-art design, simulation, and in-circuit emulation tools. He has developed seminars and curricula
on PKI for the National Cryptologic School and performed an executive internship for the chief
technology office of a very large network service provider.

Mr. Ryan is currently the Technical Director of the Mission Technologies Office for Defensive Information Operations (DIO). While he is responsible for NSA's mission architecture in support of DIO, the development and deployment of systems designed to provide network Attack Sensing and Warning (AS&W) across the entire Department of Defense takes most of his time.
